Printing at Architecture Computing
In order to print in our labs, a student must have money in their Print Account. The balance associated with your NetID only works within the School of Architecture. One can Add to their Print Account here.
Please be courteous - excessively large files may be deleted by our lab techs or the Printer Queue. Note, your Print Account will not be charged if deleted while spooling. You will see the entire file load in the queue, then it will delete the job if it should exceed the following limits:
The Arch 314 Color and Black/White lasers have 150mb file limits.
The Arch 314 Color plotters have 200mb file limits.
The TBH 20 printers and plotters have their size limit restriction lifted since it should be used solely as a Printing Lab. This does not mean your files should exceed 200mb when the lab is busy.
Refunds
All requests for print refunds should be sent to arch-printing@illinois.edu, along with a PDF of your Print History, which can be obtained here.
Any print errors due to ink streaking, paper mishaps, etc. should be turned into a lab tech as proof with your name, NetID, date and the plotter name the error occurred on.
We only support sending PDF files to our plotters/printers due to their file compression and universal support properties. When sending any other file format to our plotters you assume full monetary liability for the job and may not be granted a reimbursement should it fail.
Printing assistance is available during normally staffed hours, otherwise you will have to email arch-printing@illinois.edu to make an appointment to meet with a lab tech.

Prices
The School of Architecture charges a small fee for most printing services. Prices are set based on ink, paper, and maintenance costs. All revenue from printing is used to purchase replacement printers, ink, and paper.
All printing must be paid for in advance. Each Architecture student has a printing "account" whose balance is automatically tracked by special software that controls the print queues. If insufficient funds are in your account to cover a print job, it will be deleted from the print queue. You may add money to your print account in the computer lab if you use the web-based credit card system . Checks must be payable to the University of Illinois and given to the Undergrad Office, 117 TBH.
