Mackintosh School of Architecture
Established in 1998, this program consists of a mutual exchange of faculty from the two institutions. Professor Ken Macrae, Mackintosh’s Third Year Master, was the first faculty member who actively taught at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign School of Architecture as part of this program (Fall 1998). UIUC’s Design Professor Jeffrey Poss reciprocated this visit in May 1999 by spending four weeks teaching at the Mackintosh School of Architecture.
The Mackintosh School of Architecture is part of the Glasgow School of Art. It is internationally recognised as one of Britain's foremost higher education institutions for the study and advancement of art, design and architecture. The School is at the heart of Glasgow, one of Europe's most dynamic artistic communities, offering students and staff a stimulating experience in a unique learning environment.
The exchange program is expected to continue and hopefully expand in the next few years.
